Treats

December 1st

Just imagine if you always spent money on what you wanted all the time, and did  special stuff every day. Then these things wouldn't be a treat
I found the big box of mixed Lindor chocs on the reduced shelf because the box is squashed, the coffee is something I've not tried before. Both of these have been popped in the cupboard for Christmas. While the pretty winter cup and saucer were found in a charity shop about 3 years ago and I use it for the month of December - just for a change.

  5. I just said the same thing about treats to the dogs yesterday-they were not impressed. Unlike me they have absolutely no restraint where treats are concerned. Which brings me to the Lindor which I absolutely love and only have for Christmas-only this year I have made a strong effort not to add sugar to my diet-what am I going to do. The dogs are smirking.

    1. Maybe one of those very small boxes of Lindor wouldn't be so bad.

  11. I change my mugs seasonally too. Your cup and saucer is very sweet indeed. My Christmas treat is a box of Milk Tray and if I can find them on offer I'll have a box of Lindor too. Enjoy!

  12. The cup and saucer is lovely. I brought my Christmas cups out today that I bought in the January sales. It's nice to treat ourselves but I agree, some things should remain special - in our house that's trifle which I only make at Christmas. xx

  13. Oh yes! I'm a huge fan of occasional treats, especially chocolate. As you rightly say, if you had them all the time they couldn't really be classed as treats. I love your wintery cup and saucer. It's very pretty. X

  15. I have the exact same cup and saucer. My husband won it a few years ago in a raffle at a quiz night he goes to. I have it displayed on a shelf with some special tankards. I find it too big for normal usage, mind you it can't be much bigger than a mug. Enjoy your treats.

    1. The little house on the cup looks like the cottage we are buying, but I hope it won't have snow on it when we move there!

  17. There's something to be said about some of the simpler things in life. The thought of leaning back in my stitching chair,a mug of something hot,and a melt in the mouth chocolate. Now all I need is some great music a good book,or friend.I am truly blesses,as are you. You and your husband are in my thoughts.

  22. Treats are all the more special for having them now and then, we enjoy seasonal foods because we wait each year and only eat when they are grown locally.
