Busy doing nothing much

I went to get the hoover to run it round the living room but then...........

I saw some egg/pumpkin money  had come through the letterbox so went into the porch to pick it up........

While there I noticed there was only 1 campsite handout leaflet left on the shelf so............

I went into the craft room to photo copy a few more as we have some bookings for this weekend and next week.

While I was waiting for the copier I noticed I had 2 cards half started on my desk so.......

I finished making one, changed my mind about the second but added the finished one to my card box..........

That made me wonder who I had to send cards to in the next couple of weeks so............

I had a look in my birthday book and then found 3 cards to send..........

That made me think about when our new penny-pincher letter group person had a birthday so.........

I found my letter with the information............

That reminded me to look and see when it was my turn to write a penny-pincher letter so......

I  looked at when I did my last one then........

I spent a few minutes reading through my last letter which reminded me I ought to do the back exercises that I had written about............

By which time almost an hour had passed and I had completely forgotten about the hoovering!

Meanwhile back in the world of really busy people, C was cutting his way through the dead elms, loading them into the little trailer and adding them to the wood pile in the shed. ( If you want to know more about the dead elms, there is a long reply to a comment left on yesterdays post)

After 4 nights with an empty campsite we have 4 caravans/motor-homes in tonight including one staying for 9 nights, so just as we were thinking we wouldn't be taking much more money this season we  will be able to put another £204 in the savings.

Welcome to Catherine, a new follower on Google Friends and thank you for comments yesterday.

PS am I the only person excited to see the return of Strictly on TV tonight - even if I haven't got the foggiest as to who most of the " celebs" are.
PPS My new boots took me for another energy restoring walk today, just a wee bit further than yesterday and back again. Not a pheasant to be seen anywhere today.

Over packaged

The postman brought a parcel this morning, it was nearly shoe box size, what was inside?

Three tubes of lip balm! Slightly over packaged I think. This Yaoh hemp oil lip balm is the only one I can use without my lips stinging like crazy. I've tried all sorts including natural ones made with bees wax but they always end up being chucked out as they've irritated too much. Because of spending so much time outside I use lip balm summer and winter. Thank goodness for the internet because the shop I used to get them from closed down a few years ago.

I thought I had better do something useful while watching the fascinating game of tennis between Rafael Nadal and Rosol this afternoon so I got another dish cloth finished.

And What else has been happening here today?
C has got the shed finished ( apart from being short of guttering and shelf brackets), I'm just waiting for the coat of PVA that he has put on the floor to dry so I can move everything in.

Two tents arrived on the campsite - very unusual for us to have more than the odd tent now and again, building the shower has made all the difference.

Out for sale today just 5 bags of potatoes, 15 boxes of eggs and 2 punnets of raspberries.
Home produced eaten today - Raspberries, potatoes, salad leaves, tomatoes, cucumber, beetroot, cauliflower, calabrese and broad beans.

Welcome to a new follower on Google, I can't seem to see who you are but welcome anyway and there are 167 on Bloglovin which I think is also one more but Bloglovin seems unwilling to let me in to see the followers list.

Thank you to everyone for comments yesterday and yes the flowers will turn into Aubergines as everyone knew. We have 10 plants in the polytunnel this year and they are looking very good. We will eat some  but sell several too.

Back Tomorrow

A glimpse of a hot country + a trailer makes life easier.

First, before I forget, welcome to a new follower TrishWish, who has just started blogging.

Yesterday we went to visit Him Outside's sister to do a present exchange before Christmas. On our way we called into Ipswich to pick up Him Outsides new toy- a trailer to fit on the back of the ride on mower.
Between his diagnosis for angina and having the stents done he found pushing a wheelbarrow very hard work. It often needed a puff of the angina spray to get to the top of our field ( where the chickens live) which is only about 100 yards. Since the stents he is back to full health and strength except that pushing a loaded barrow still makes him feel out of breath. So he had been looking on ebay for a small trailer that can hook onto the mower. When he has been working at our neighbours he found that using her little trailer saved a lot of hard work. Persistence paid off and one came up on ebay in Ipswich which he got for £82 - about half the price of a new one - and in good condition too.

Here he is on the way up to the chickens with a dustbin and bag of wheat. Another good thing is that this combo is much lighter in weight than the jeep or tractor for running over our soggy field. ( More rain this week just gone than we've had since last April.)

I've just finished reading this library book - the latest in the Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency Series.
It's good to read about hot sunshine on a grey December day.

Now I have a dilemma. All library books have been read, the library van is due next Friday bringing me at least 8 books that I want to read and I have 2 books in my Christmas present box that I'm really looking forward to, so do I
a.) just dip into a favourite off my book shelf until Wednesday when I can legitimately look at the new books but won't have time to read them properly because of cooking dinner and having visitors?
b.) take a book out of my Christmas present box and start to read it before Christmas?
c.) read something off my book shelf that I've not read before so taking me until Friday when I can then start reading the library books and save my pressies until I've run out of reading in January?

Who knew that life was so complicated!!

We watched and enjoyed the Strictly Come Dancing Final last night and agreed that the best dancer really did win. There have been years when we were not so sure.

Thank you to everyone for comments yesterday, much appreciated.

Here is something  I've been meaning to do occasionally and keep forgetting:-
Home made/home produced/home grown food eaten today.
Bread, eggs, cake ,lettuce, salad leaves, radish, beetroot, apples, pears.

Back Tomorrow - Keep Frugalling!
