  2. We've contemplated it numerous times but haven't to date! Who knows it may happen one day. I do like to be beside the seaside? Is yours at Felixstowe?

  8. That is fantastic, I would just love, love, love one of those!
Perfect for you and Col to get away and relax for a while.
I have many happy childhood memories of holidays in beach huts. Money was tight so many of the days were spent in and around the beach hut, Even on rainy days, board games, reading and sewing were fun.
Mum had a little calor gas stove and it was amazing how she made meals for us.
Enjoy and best wishes to you both.

  11. Love beach huts. We used to rent a holiday flat or caravan at Walton on the Naze and for an extra £5 we had the use of a beach hut for the week. Used to take bread, salad and we could have a cup of tea as there was a calor gas stove. Great days and even when it was cold or rainy you could cosy up inside and watch the weather, read or play games. Great idea, I hope you have both have hours of fun. Love Andie xxx

  19. Which beach will you be residing on all summer then? Perfect idea while you're staying put, and you can rent it out as an income stream when you are both well enough to go off on your travels (or leave it for the grandchildren to keep safe and cosy in!). We found beach huts could be invaluable when the kids were still small enough to need naps and nappy changes. I bet yours will be the best kept hut on the row!

  20. So exciting, what a lovely thing to do. My parents hired a beach hut one holiday at Newquay in Cornwall. Have some very happy memories with it even though it must be 45 years ago. Something for you both to look forward to using and for your family to enjoy as well :)

  22. Lovely news-I would love one of these but old probably settle for a craft shed in the garden!! I love the sea in all seasons and I'd be sitting there wrapped in layers on Christmas Day if Icould. Catriona

  28. Is that Felixstowe? I love Felixstowe in summer. Rain or shine, if you've got a beach hut then it's always seaside weather!
Trouble is, Bill's family beach hut is in Frinton, which is fine, but there isn't much going on along the sea front in Frinton! ;o)

Have fun. Will you be doing it up and showing us pics? I hope so! x
