It's all very well................................

......................................living just 10 minutes walk away from an Aldi, BUT the housekeeping money is zooming out of the purse much faster than it ever has before!

I even bought myself a birthday cake!! I've never done that before. Tut.Tut.

Must get back in baking mode ASAP........ what with fancy food and charity shop baby stuff, I shall bankrupt us in no time!

Back Very Soon

  1. You'll probably soon be craving home made produce so many should just enjoy the novelty. x

  6. I sympathise over the charity shop baby stuff! I resisted the temptation yesterday to buy a couple of things for our 3 1/2 month old granddaughter, knowing that she had just inherited lots of clothes from a relative. But it's hard to resist when they have lovely stuff for only 50p! I justify it sometimes by saying that at least it's showing my daughter (who does venture into charity shops sometimes nowadays but not often enough!) what bargains are to be had secondhand.

  8. Happy Birthday, you deserve some time away from the 'frugal' mode, thats why we've been frugal, to splash the cash when we want. Enjoy every mouthful of that cake with Col.

  9. Happy Birthday. There's nothing wrong with buying a cake instead of baking it yourself :)

  22. Everyone should have birthday cake, bought or otherwise! I suspect the novelty of having shops so close by will wear thin and you'll get back some normality soon :D Happy Birthday. x

  24. As a kid I always wanted shop bought cake for my birthday, they were a novelty as my mum was such a baker. What an ingrate I was! It didn't take long for the novelty to pass, give me home made any day (although I still think of Mr Kipling French Fancies as an integral part of a birthday tea party!) Happy Birthday x
