Quick update

Thank you to everyone for kind wishes on my last post.
We are still here and STILL waiting for exchange and a completion date!
All due to our buyers and their late application for a mortgage. IF poss. moving should be next Wednesday, if not I have no idea what will happen.
We have a removal company for the 16th but if it's later I shall be ringing every removal company in the county to find someone.
We have almost everything packed and waiting.
Wish we had done what we originally planned and rented for 6 months, even if it meant moving twice in a year it would still have been less stressful than what we are going through at the moment,
Colin was very poorly after his 3rd chemo session but  is feeling a bit better now after 12 days. He is next due in on 17th. We are still backwards and forwards to hospital 2 or 3 times a week for blood tests, X ray and a CT scan.

Back in a week or so I hope
Sue

  1. Oh that is a blow Sue, I dont know why in the UK it is so stressful selling and buying houses, the buyers should be made to compenasate you for delaying things, hope you have plenty of helpers on hand for the move day.

  5. SO sorry to hear that everything has had a hiccup and that Col is feeling on the grim side. Fingers and toes crossed that it all goes through a.s.a.p. and without a hitch, especially on removal day. Thinking of you.

  9. As I drank my first cup of tea I thought about you and Colin and indeed wondered if you were in the middle of moving. So very sorry to hear you are waiting for exchange and completion date.

Prayers that Colin will not be as poorly following his 17th of the month treatment and strength for you Sue.

  10. It happens a lot; so don't think you are being picked on by the moving Gods. Sit tight and when the time is right you can impose some of your preferences for days/times of moving on those pesky buyers. In some counties they have started mobile local cancer treatment centres, forest of Dan for example, so some of those trips back and forth to NHS centres are avoided. Believe it works well and would certainly be a help to you.

  23. We are also in the process of a move - when I grumble to my sister, she always says it will all work out - it will all be worth it in the end - it just probably will not go the way we have it planned in our minds. So far, the last part is very true. So, to you I say, it will all work our and it will all be worth it and I pray every day the Col continues to stay as strong as he can through his treatments and appreciate how great of a team you two have always seemed to be. You will be on my mind as I try to find some pans to try to scramble some eggs and sausage for supper. Already tired of take out or eating out. Ranee (USA) (oh and it clearly has not worked out the way you planned it - heh. Have faith - God surely has a plan. Take care.)

  25. It is so thoughtful of you to post a blog at such a stressful time. Thank you. There's not much any of us can say to help but if prayers and good wishes are anything to go by mountains and mortgage companies should be moved!
I'm sure you wished you had rented for a while but then you'd still not be settled with the thought of a move to come. As it is this time next week you may be in residence at your new home.
So sorry that Col is having such bad reactions to the chemo. Hope that the next batch do not affect him so badly. Stay strong, you have achieved so much. Sue

  28. I am glad that you posted, I have been thinking about you both. We are all hoping for a completion very soon for you, its so stressful even at the best of times.
Best wishes to Col, so sorry for what he is going through.
You will soon be in your new home and settling down there, what a blessing it will be not to have to do that long drive to the hospital.
Chin up, all will be well. I am sure every one of your readers is willing you on and sending love and all good wishes.
Please post again whenever you can and are able.

  31. Everything crossed, lighting a candle, saying prayers and tossing a pinch of salt over my shoulder. Which isn't easy with everything crossed and handling a lit match. :-)
But seriously, hope it all smooths out VERY soon. Best wishes from the California Coast.

  32. I've been wondering how you are doing, and where you are. I feel badly that you are going through a stressful time, when it is already stressful enough. Hopefully you can look back at this soon, thankful that it is over and you can settle in and rest. -Jenn

  34. Good luck with the moving process. Even the easiest move is stressful, and sounds like you're having extra bucketloads on top. Will be wonderful when you finally have the keys in your hand, and shorter trips to the hospital. So glad Col is feeling a bit better.
